Beginning of the Year to the End

Using the app side by side photos I was able to take a picture of my first post and latest post to see the length and correctness of my writing. I was surprised because in my first one and earlier post I never wrote enough to put it into paragraphs. Now I write so much more that there is multiple paragraphs and the correctness of my writing is much better. I think part of this has to do with how much I post and write in my notebook.

Seventh Grade

Starting seventh grade I knew it would be hard. All of my eighth grade friends told me that you get lots of homework. Which I soon realized would become true.

When I first arrived in August; I expected it to be very easy with not much homework. (even though everyone warned me) I thought seventh grade would be another chapter of my life that was a little harder then the year before. School like math class till you get to seventh grade; you keep doing all the same skill and have all the same responsibility with just a little bit more added on. Once you get to seventh grade though its a lot different you get to choose your own electives and get into much deeper skills that you never learned before.

Once I was in school for a few week I realized my eighth grade friends knew what they were saying. I had tons of homework and I stayed up till 10:00 or 11:00 just trying to finish the dumb science reading notes.

By October my school life was starting to get easier. All the new classes like Spanish were starting to make since and volleyball session was getting fun. I had a few new friends from sports and different classes; that I talked to a lot and my teacher actually made since.

In seventh grade I have learned different things they are:

– what all the body system are in science.
– how to manage my time at home.
-what pre algebra means and what you do in it.
-and how to post a blog.

As this year comes to a close; I can say I think everything went well over all, but if I had to do it over again I wouldn’t live through it! My advice to next years seventh grader is to study and do your homework.

Friendship

My first really good friend was probably in preschool. They were twins and I met them at the preschool I went to. We always went to each other house to swim and jump, trampoline, play dolls, and other things like that. At the preschool we were always together getting messy and running around like little kids do.

When we went to each other’s houses we could jump on the trampoline for hours. My siblings would double bounce us and we’d play crack the egg; in crack the egg one person is in the middle and you bounce around them until they open their arms. I also had lots of American girl dolls and barbies we would play with and do their hair and act like they’re the queens of the kingdom. We would also go ride out on the drive way with our training wheeled bikes and race back and forth. Or go in the pool in little floaties even though we knew how to swim and splash around.

They were my first real friends; I still see them sometimes but being a grade older we don’t talk much anymore. Even though we don’t talk the time we spent together was priceless and lots of fun and we will always be friends.

My Favorite Poem

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too,
Went for a ride in a flying shoe,
‘Hooray!’
‘What fun!’
‘It’s time we flew!’
Said Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too.

Ickle was captain, Pickle was crew,
And Tickle served coffee and mulligan stew
As higher
And higher
And higher they flew,
Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too.

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too,
Over the sun and beyond the blue. ‘
Hold on!’
‘Stay in!’
‘I hope we do!’
Cried Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too.

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too
Never returned to the world they knew,
And nobody
knows what’s
happened to
Dear Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too.

-Shel Silverstein

The author Shel Silverstein is someone from my childhood I grew up hearing and loving. My Mom always read me The Giving Tree and my teacher read poems out of the books. When I was in about 2nd grade my class did a project where with him and his poems. I still remember this one from the book Where the Sidewalk end because of its repetition and rhyme.

Challenge Week 6: Media and Memory

When I was little I just couldn’t do without watching Strawberry Shortcake. It was a cute and very happy show. Everything was bright and animated; it had houses shaped as strawberries, cake, and even orange trees. Most everything took place out side the house in the marshmallow wood or in the strawberry gardens.

While I watched it, I was very happy I knew all the characters by name there was Strawberry Shortcake, Apple Dumbling, Blueberry Mufin, Orange Blossom, Lemon Meringue, Huckle Berry Fin, and many others. In my mind I was friends with all of the animated charters. Apple dumpling was like a little sister when ever I heard her talk I would respond as her little sister. I loved and knew all the episodes very well there was a bad couple, mermaid, or other thing that always tried to ruin there adventures but it never worked. When ever I watched the bad guy on the screen I would scream at him.

Watching Strawberry Short cake was a happy memory. Without the show in my childhood I wouldn’t of had half as many things to keep me occupied on a normal day, and I would only have half the number of friends without the animated ones

Favorite Quote

“Every minute you spend with someone gives them a part of your life and takes part of theirs.” Allie Condie says this in her book Matched. The character Ky states this.

The book matched is set in the future and is science fiction book. The conflict in the story is that each year they have Matched banquet it’s for people of age to go and get there husband or will be husbands that society picks out, but the main charter gets matched with 2 people. One of who has never been consider a equal because of a act of rebelling that his father did his name was Ky. The society somehow put his name in though and the girl then ended up with two matches by accident.

Ky learned things from his mother and father before they brought him into community about true love, and identity. The quote comes from him saying that when when you spend time with someone it give them part of your life since they spend it with and learn about you. Ky was so carful not to give the girl everything because then she would have part of his life, and would be able to hurt home if she wanted.

I like this quote because it’s short but powerful. It shows how important spending time with someone is and in a way you are giving them part of your life.

Lady bird Lake (Town Lake)

Not a cloud in the sky only the bright sun. Lady bird lake is packed with lots of people out to enjoy a beautiful day. Exercising at the lake is a great way to spend a nice day in Austin.

Town lake is a pretty community trail around a lake in the middle of Austin. On a hot sunny day, it look like the whole town is down exercising. Riding a bike is one way you can use the trail: families, groups, and individuals all zoom past other on their bikes. Runners and walker all stay to the side talking and training for different things.

There is a lot of side things also that are along the lake one is the Zilker park field you can see lots of people playing volleyball on the sand courts. It a great place to fly kites and throw Frisbees also; almost every time I can see people doing yoga in a small lesson, or if you just want to throw a football, kick a soccer ball, or just read a book on a hammock you can do it all there.

One other thing you can do if that’s not good enough you can hang out on the lake. There is deferent place all over the lake you can rent kayaks, or go paddle boarding. In the summer the lake is very busy with people enjoying their day with friends and family. On the side of the lake you can also feed the turtles and the ducks.

If you like the outdoors then you would love the lake. With it’s many different places to hang out on the lake any one could stay a whole day there. When you want get outside the lake is a very nice place to spend the day.

Masks

Different people wear masks. Everyone wears visible masks but there’s other ways to wear them.

People hide in masks when there insecure. There is make-up, wigs hood or hats, and then there things u can’t touch like like darkness. When these things are used it happens most likely because they don’t want you to see what they look like. Other times it’s because their having a bad time, and don’t want to talk.

People don’t always use them to hide; costumes are masks. People wear costume and masks at dances, partys, or Halloween just for fun.

There are many ways to ways to wear a mask.

Why air ports are unenjoyable

Watching everyone board their planes; sitting there board. They keep coming in. This plane I’ll never leave. Airports are so unenjoyable.

I think this plane will never come and let us on. Never the less the people at the airports of course get on and tells everyone: we will moving from terminal D to A. “It will be a 2 hour delay,” an a annoying voice said. Will this plane ever leave.

Not only waiting is bad but security is such a nightmare. Taking off your shoes emptying all your pocket, and taking electronics out of your bag. Ugh! it’s such a hassle.

Security is really taking awhile right now someone forgot to take out their electronics. You can’t even try to say airports are enjoyable, because their not. Can Waiting for the plane to take off take any longer?

Why Library Books are Harmful

Books after, books after, books. I need a leash to not loose library books. Money goes down the drain by these books. Library books are very harmful

Every few months I get fines. Books are everywhere — under my bed, in my closet, and even just lying out in plain sight. They’ll never stay in the same place. When I get a book and finish it, or just give up on on reading them, they don’t go back. They just sit there in the house. While stuff gets piled on top of them and then are lost. Lost books always lead to over due book fines.

My wallet is not very happy with me right now. These library books are going to starve the poor thing. Library books are harming our wallets. If they don’t stop I’ll be broke!
